A two-day collaborative workshop is planned with Health Canada, its scientific staff, and the pharmaceutical community of scientists from academia, brand and generic industries, in keeping with the mission of CSPS.
Mary Haak-Frendscho, PhD will present the opening plenary on Tuesday, May 22, at the CSPS Conference, speaking on The View from Here: Innovation Canadian Style. Her presentation will provide an investor perspective on the Canadian innovation ecosystem, as seen through a US biotech lens. What we see, filling the gaps and leveraging our unique strengths. The talk will wrap up with a Q&A session.

Dr. David Juurlink will present a plenary lecture on: The North American Opioid Crisis From 30,000 Feet. He will review the genesis and recent evolution of the opioid crisis, discuss its current scope, and review ways in which the crisis might be mitigated. A full session on the Opioid Crisis will follow.
Dr. Juurlink is head of the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology division at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. He is also a medical toxicologist at the Ontario Poison Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children and a scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.
