The CSPS Young Scientist Network (YSN) has done an outstanding job arranging a number of events throughout the 2019 CSPS Symposium for all trainees in attendance. All events will take place at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. Trainees need to register to attend so don’t miss out – register now for the Symposium!
Trainee Breakfast – the CSPS-YSN has arranged a Trainee Breakfast on Wednesday May 22 from 7:00-9:00 am and have invited amazing speakers who are experts in their fields, representing academia, business and government. This breakfast will provide a chance for trainees to ask questions and learn from the experts. Confirmed mentors attending the breakfast include: Dr. Christine Allen who is Professor at University of Toronto, Dr. Ron Boch who is the Vice President of Biotechnology and Industry Affairs at BIOTECanada, Dr. Noriko Daneshtalab who is Associate Professor at Memorial University, Dr. Agnes Klein who is the Director of the Centre for Evaluation of Radiopharmaceuticals and Biotherapeutics at Health Canada, and Shawn Glinter who is founder and CEO of Pendant Bioscience Inc.
Trainee Networking Evening – the CSPS-YSN has organized a Trainee Networking Evening on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00-7:30 pm. This will be an amazing opportunity for trainees to connect with their peers from across Canada and to discuss how to can grow and continue to improve the CSPS-YSN.
Trainee Lunch & Learn – the CSPS-YSN has also organized a Trainee Lunch & Learn on Thursday May 23 from 12:30-1:30 pm and have invited special guest Dr. Helen Burt, Professor of Drug Delivery in UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to come and share lessons from her career journey and secrets for success with the CSPS-YSN trainees.
